What should I do in the garden in June?
June is about keeping plants supported and flowering. Stake tall perennials before heavy rain flattens them, deadhead roses for more blooms, keep sowing salads and veg every few weeks, and finish planting out summer bedding.
What should I do in the garden in July?
July is about watering and keeping on top of growth. Water pots and baskets daily in hot weather, loosen tree ties that are getting tight, sow quick crops into any cleared bed, and watch tomatoes and potatoes for blight.

August is about keeping summer going. Pick crops little and often, deadhead to keep flowers coming into autumn, and water through dry spells. Trim lavender and wisteria, and watch for blight on potatoes and tomatoes.
What should I do in the garden in September?
September is one of the best months for planting, while the soil is still warm. Split crowded perennials, take cuttings of tender shrubs before the frosts, plant spring bulbs (but save tulips for November), and keep deadheading roses.
What should I do in the garden in November?
November is about protecting your garden from frost and planting for next year. Drain outside taps, raise pots onto feet, plant tulips, and get bare-root roses, hedging and trees in while they're dormant.
